Why I dislike "jukebox" and "tube" radio stations

Ok first lets define what the heck I am talking about.  A jukebox station is a station that would be 90-95% automated and has no live personalities, think jackfm.  What I call a tube station are stations that produce little to none of their own content but do have shows with personalities from someplace else.  I do realize that there is a large expense to fully local radio station, so I would be shocked to find one.  But I don't think it is too unreasonable to think some local programming should be offered at sane hours of the day.  Keep in mind that I want/trained to be apart of this radio world but have not been able to break in.

I was born too late to hear the golden age of radio.  Those by gone days of radio shows, and yes many were syndicated but they just seemed more intelligent.  No longer do we value the theater of the mind but instead cave to the visions of others.  The radio waves now seem to be overpopulated with shock jocks who have nothing to say of value and are praised for idiotic pranks.

I hate the fact that i can move from region to region and hear the exact same shows.  I long to find a station that really caters to their local crowds and pull small artist from the crowd.  But I think those days are gone forever and we will be trapped in the cookie cutter world for radio.
