I am learning music

As many know I have been wanting to learn music my whole life.  I was always told I was tone deaf and could not sing.  I was never really given the chance to try an instrument when I was young.  But the desire and curiosity never waned in me.

A few years ago I came across the Woodrow Co on a trip to Ashville.  I was impressed with how easy the basics could be mastered.  Immediately it was on my wish list.  As happens so often stuff happened and it kept getting pushed off.  This past year Jason would not let me push it off again.  Instead, he grilled me as to which models I liked and what I was thinking about getting.  I admitted I liked the Old Timer but would get the Rambler since it was more in my price range.   While I was waffling about spending the money, Jason called them and placed an order for the Old Timer.  So in December, I started to learn my first instrument ever.  I am in utter love with the sound.

Thus far I am keeping with the simple songs.  Ones were the melody is played on the high string.  Next month I will start learning other methods.  Current songs are:

  • You are my sunshine
  • Fraque Jacque
  • Red is the Rose
  • Camptown Races
  • Free Falling
I am wanting to learn Greensleeves to play for my daddy.
