Portriat challenge?

So I was looking at my online face.  I mean that just how it sounds.  I was looking at my profile pictures and decided that I need to update my look.  That got me thinking.  I really never enjoy having the camera turned on me.  For some reason I have a very low self image.  I actually think I am not pretty enough to have my picture taken.  How crazy is that?  Me the shutterbug is terrified to have her picture taken.

So I have devised a plan to help me think more creatively and have more pictures of me.  I am going to create a challenge for me.  I am going to make a list of adjectives and create a self portrait for each one.  This will be to flex all my creative and self image barriers.  One word that I really want to put on the list is naughty.  That one will really be an endeavor for me.  I am actually getting excited (oh another word) to start this.  I was originally thinking of doing 30 words, but that seems a little too much to handle.  I am now thinking of going with the nice round number of 15.

List thus far:
  • professional
  • excited
  • friendly
  • relaxed
  • productive
  • artsy
  • naughty
  • sleepy
  • thoughtful
  • carefree
My photography does not include the use of Photoshop so that just makes it even more challenging.

I think this is one of the most recent pictures of me and it 3 yrs old!

Reading is Fun!

Yay  I have found a way to link them!  Below you will see a list of books I have read recently.  I just finished another Aroura Teagarden book and just cannot wait to get to the next one.

Meg's bookshelf: read

Three Bedrooms, One Corpse
5 of 5 stars
I am really loving this character. She has a mind like my own and the curiosity to go with it.
Deadly Business
1 of 5 stars
I did not finish this book. Now here is why. One the storyline is not plausible and thus not believable. Two the men she writes are on a twisted scale. Three, the main character is a tease who hides behind her supposed faith (Christian ...

Dog Days of Summer

Today is the first day of summer, Happy Solstice.  It is also Bring you Dog to Work Day and Flip Flop day.  Since my Director loves dogs, we are having DOG DAY in the office.  I enjoy Dog Day and today we have a good crowd in the building.  Lots of energy.  So nice.  :)

So here are our lovely doggies: Bella, Rachel, Leo, Maggie, and Buttercup

Photo Time

Jason planting sea oats with a group from the school.
So one early Saturday morning Jason and I go and plant sea oats.  It was a lot of fun and I met some of the other law students too.

Father's Day

David J Wilhoite, Sr
Dad and I are just hanging out.
I could not be with my daddy/dad/Poppa/old fogey on Father's day.  This does not mean I am not thinking of him constantly and missing him like mad.  My father has always been a huge impact on my life.  He was there pushing my along in sports and school.  He was the one who directed me to look at Tusculum College (great decision).  He even flew with me to Grad school in England, just to make sure I was settled and not frightened out of my mind.  He has always been the first person I call to find comfort.  He is not just the rock of our family but the boulder.  Not only is he our father but he is a father figure to so many of our friends and his former students.  He was always the person you could look to for help and advice no matter what.  I do not think there are enough words to fully see my father.  I love my daddy very much and I hope I can be as wonderful and compassionate as he will be.

That wonderful grin.

New projects (may be)

I am trying to think of new projects to utilize my talents and education.  Since I am having fun in the blogger world.  I am thinking of creating a blog for an oral history type project.  Ideally I would not start this project until we return to Chattanooga and North Georgia area.  I am just thinking my way into the project now.  I might try to claim a blog name soon also (done).

My thoughts are to start with my family.  My father is a wealth of stories of bygone years.  Plus he has the best voice and mannerism.  I guess with that in mind there should be a video element or audio element in the blog.  Next, I would reach out to the local retirement community for help finding talent.  I would also want to look at younger people from my generation and those who are just now starting to look back at the "glory days".

Please leave me a feedback comment to let me know if I should even consider such an undertaking.

Book Update

Book list:

Currently reading:

GOT-A Dance of Dragons --really enjoying the story as always.  All of my favorite characters are popping in so it is good.

13th Tale - Yep, still gnawing on this.  I do love this book and it is one of my pick up and read anytime books.  But since GOT is monopolizing my reading time I have shelved this for a few weeks.

I am not currently listening to any books since all the books I want to download are in the wrong format.

Scores

I am not posting his actual scores.  Since in law school your score means relatively nothing.  It is all about your placement on the curve.  Jason has ended on the top of the curve.  Which is a decent place to be, ie the middle of the pack.  What becomes the issue is that only the top 1/3 will keep their scholarships.  Jason is taking 2 courses this summer, and working in the library.  We are still looking over all of our options for the upcoming academic year.  It is a bit on the stressful side for us right now, so I am going to be random in postings.

Spoonbills

I was playing around with G+ and uploading photos for another project when I found that Google will make GIFs automatically.  I had no idea that they would do this.  So I started shooting the spoonbills at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens to test and play around with it.  I think it is awesome.
