Travelling alone

I am off to Jax alone this time for a job interview.  I am hoping to get a job that will let Jason not work during law school.  From what we have heard from everyone at the school and from friends this would be the best thing for Jason to succeed.  I want him to succeed so very badly.

The move will be in just a few short days.  I will be packing like a mad woman when I get home.  I am hoping that we have a night to have a pint at the pint with friends but I don't know.

*Update*
Interview went well.  The job was not one I would normally consider but I guess if it pans out it was meant to be.  Made it home fine.  Now I just have to keep getting everything ready for the move on Friday/Saturday.

Why does it always seem to rain when I visit Jacksonville.

We have a move date!

The apartment complex has called my husband.  She told us we can move into a 2 bedroom apartment on the 30th.  This is just awesome.  Just one more step in the journey.  So now I have a deadline for packing and saying goodbye to my people.  I will post more details in the next couple of days.

Another step in our adventure

We have now come to our second visit to Jacksonville.  It is raining again.  I hope it does not rain every time we come for a visit.  This visit has two purposes.  One was to submit our application at the apartment complex and the second is to attend new student orientation.  The added bonus came when Jason got a call on Wed to interview for a job at a hotel.  This is excellent news for us and will help our worries a lot.

So Thursday we wake up too early but late at the same time.  Drove straight to the apartment office.  We did get chance to see the other apartment that  we were considering.  It is 2 bedrooms but at the very top of our price range.  I still like the 1 bedroom with what feels like a massive living room and patio. But the downside is that we have to be wait listed for boh.  The woman is very confident that we will have an apartment by our move in date (the end of June).  Fingers crossed and here is to hoping that we get good neighbors.

Friday mostly consisted of visiting the school.  I actually really enjoyed my time there.  I did skip the first section which was a Mock Class, but Jason said he had great time in it.  The Professor told him that he was asking the right types of questions.  I instead went to the "Family Room" and talked to a mom there that was freaking out about finding her daughter someplace to live.  I went to the few session after that and I decided that I really liked that school.  One of the former students put it the best way; they teach the more practical aspect of the as opposed to teaching just teaching the theory of the law.  The tour was very nice also.  Found out that Apple designed the building and it is colorful and fun.

To be honest I cannot wait for the move.  I still have to find a job but the next time I make that drive I want to be moving not visiting.

and the rolling ball starts

I am starting a record of this adventure that my husband and I are about to take.  This past spring my wonderful husband graduated from college at the ripe age of 44.  I could not be prouder of him.  So, this fall he will be starting the next adventure...Law School.  Our idea is that he will become an environmental lawyer.   He has told me a 101 times what that means for him but I think I will wait and have quote from him to explain what it means.

At the end of this month we will be moving from my home area of Chattanooga, TN to sunny Jacksonville, Fl to attend Florida Coastal Law School (http://www.fcsl.edu/).  We think we know where we want to live.  So step one and two are done.  Step three will be finding gainful employment to suit all our needs.

This blog will become a mis-mosh of our adventures in Law School and my life as a craft-er/photographer/whatever.
